ABOUT
HMT was established in 2007 in San Diego and has grown from very humble beginnings to the influential, unique and respected industry leader it is today. HMT Electric added HMT North and HMT Renewable Energy to the portfolio and within these entities, added Building Automation & Controls, Commercial and Special Projects/Service divisions. We are more than just an electrical contractor. HMT makes the extra effort during every step of the project. This same determination and commitment to excellence through collaboration, efficiency and quality is also engrained in our culture and goes beyond the Monday through Friday work hours. Giving back to our local community and participating in charity events throughout the year is part of who we are. At HMT, we have built a talented team that connects and succeeds both inside and outside of work.

BRIAN HUDAK

PRESIDENT & CEO
Brian Hudak began his electrical career in Vancouver almost 37 years ago as an electrician working in the field. He moved his family to San Diego in 2000 to run high-rise projects for a local electrical contractor and in 2007, with the help of Bosa Development and Stefan Southas, he launched HMT Electric and built the first of over 20 high rise buildings in San Diego, Los Angeles, and Seattle. Brian is involved in all facets of the three HMT entities, HMT Electric, HMT North & HMT Renewable Energy. He has served as an officer of NECA for six years and is currently the NECA San Diego’s Chapter President. STEFANOS SOUTHAS

PRINCIPAL
Stefanos began his career in heavy construction working at remote camps, tunnels, dams, mines and highways. After seven years, he returned to Vancouver and worked as a restauranteur while studying Electronics. He began his career as an electrician at Chambers Electric, where he met Brian Hudak. After seven years in Seattle working for State Side Power, he joined Brian in San Diego and HMT was born. Stefan plays a role in virtually every HMT project in one capacity or another specializing in our low voltage and systems interface. His passion for work is unstoppable, but when he takes a break, he spends that time cooking lamb and “shiskies” for friends, family and the HMT crew, visiting Greece and spending time with his wife and two children.
